Study your way

When you study at Carey, you have a range of options and modes of engaging with your courses. Study on-site at our Auckland campus, or choose to study by distance.

All undergraduate courses are semester-based, and are taught either through weekly classes (classroom or online), or in block mode. Block mode allows students to come on campus for smaller intensives (from two to five days). Some courses are practical field based education, meaning that you can learn “on-the-job” in your church or community-based ministry contexts.

Our postgraduate courses run for the whole year and are taught as block intensives over a few days. This means that, outside those short windows, you have flexibility as to when and where you study, fitting it in around the demands of your life, or your ministry calendar.

For most programmes, you can also choose to study full-time or part-time, taking one or more courses per semester depending on how much time you are able to commit. Choose the approach that best fits your situation.

Regardless of your mode of study, you will use a range of web-based learning platforms to enable interaction with other students. You will be part of a learning community that will support you in your studies, allowing relationships to develop and creating spaces for exploration, discussion and interaction. Carey is also committed to to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment and has systems and processes in place for addressing your concerns or complaints. As signatories of the Code of Practice laid out by NZQA, Carey discloses the outcomes of any formal complaints.

Come to Carey and learn, grow, and be transformed, for the sake of Jesus and his ministry in this world.
