Bio
Paul joined the Carey team in 2025. Prior to working in academic leadership, he taught Old Testament and Preaching, and has been blessed with opportunities to study in some life-changing environments like Regent College (Canada) and Durham University (UK).
Having spent most of his life in places of learning (including the church), Paul believes that education and Christian formation are inextricably intertwined, and that human development requires not only intellectual growth but also the moral and emotional maturity to use knowledge wisely. To this end, he loves working together with like-minded faith-full educators who share a passion for deeply transformative learning.
“Interdisciplinary learning excites me, not just because sparks fly when you bring two disciplines into conversation, but because the gospel saturates all of life. As CS Lewis put it, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” The good news of Jesus is not just a truth to affirm; it is the light by which all other truths come into focus. Like the sun’s rising, the gospel illuminates the coherence of God’s entire world, including science, art, history, psychology, ethics, and so on. I love how Carey’s attention to integrative theology and community bring this to life.”
