Administrator and Executive Assistant (0.6 FTE, permanent)

Carey is seeking a capable and committed Administrator and Executive Assistant to support the effective operation of the College on a permanent basis (22.5 hours per week).

Carey is one of New Zealand’s leading theological colleges. Since 1926 we have been training Christian leaders to bring gospel renewal in churches and communities across Aotearoa and around the world. While Carey belongs to the Baptist churches of New Zealand, we serve all the churches of New Zealand, offering a range of NZQA qualifications in the areas of Bible, theology, ministry, and mission. Along with these, we provide a world-class leadership formation programme for those who have a calling to pastoral or missional leadership. Through our Centre for Lifelong Learning, we also provide a suite of resources to support the professional development of Christian leaders.

Reporting to the Senior Administrator, this role provides comprehensive administrative and executive support to the Principal and contributes to the smooth delivery of Carey’s academic, operational, and community activities. Responsibilities include frontline administration, calendar and invoice management, coordination of facilities and events, support for governance and academic processes, and liaison with staff, students, and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organisational skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion. A genuine commitment to Carey’s Christian vision, active involvement in a local church, and a passion for supporting theological education are essential.
