The Carey Baptist College Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Paul Jones to the role of Principal of Carey, starting later in June 2025, beginning in time for the second semester at Carey in July.
Paul and his family have been based in Brisbane, Australia, where they have lived for the past nine years. During this time Paul has worked at Trinity College Queensland, initially as a lecturer in Old Testament and Homiletics, and for the last six years as Principal and Director of Education for Ministry.
Paul brings a rich blend of international and local church experience. He was raised in Africa, where his parents served as missionaries with SIM, returning to Melbourne as a teenager. After studying, working, and living in England, Paul and his family moved to Brisbane, where they have been actively involved in the life of Ashgrove Baptist Church.
Paul says:
I’m both humbled and excited by this new role at Carey. The talented staff and teaching team have all been so welcoming already, and I look forward to collaborating with many others throughout NZ in our shared mission to see Baptist churches thrive and grow.
Paul’s wife, Katy, has most recently been working as a Families Pastor, and is looking forward to a climate closer to her homeland in England. Their daughters, aged 14 and 11, love rollerblading, reading, and the great outdoors. Coco the Pomeranian enjoys treats, walkies, and beaches (like every other dog). As a family, they look forward to exploring and adventuring in New Zealand.

Congratulations Paul, very proud of you. God bless you all as you launch out into this exciting new opportunity to live for and serve the Lord.
What a great appointment! A special family and loved by many. Prayers for their move to, and ministry in NZ.
