Geoff is the Dean of Studies at the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership (Dunedin), where he lectures in preaching, pastoral care and Christian formation.
Geoff was the minister of Papakura East Presbyterian Church 1997-2015. During that time, he was also a police chaplain for Counties-Manukau district (2000-2005) and lectured at Laidlaw College in preaching (2003-2007).
He was awarded his DMin (ACT) researching the effect of lectio divina and Ignatian Gospel Contemplation on sermon preparation.
Geoff is a trainer for Langham Preaching with a focus on south Asia. He is also the co-ordinator of Kiwimade Preaching (http://kiwimadepreaching.com) – an initiative of Langham Preaching NZ.
He has authored two books: Imaginative Preaching: praying the Scriptures so God can speak through you (Carlisle: Langham Global Library, 2015), and Live, Listen, Tell: the art of preaching (Carlisle: Langham Preaching Resources, 2017).
His third book is a devotional for preachers based on the Lord’s Prayer with a hoped-for publication date of June 2020.
