Dr Laurie Guy teaches the Early Church and the Book of Revelation as an adjunct lecturer.
Earlier he was a full-time lecturer at Carey 1991-2013. Before that Laurie had experience as a lawyer, pastor and missionary.
He is the author of several books and academic articles. The most recent book, Unlocking Revelation, was published in 2016. His research focuses on the interaction in history of church and society in New Zealand, along with secondary research interest in the history of the early church.
He has significant engagement in volunteer service in his retirement, especially as a Citizens Advice Bureau volunteer. He enjoys outdoor sports, including tramping, cycling and kayaking. Laurie is married to Shona, and they are parents of four adult daughters and several grandchildren.
