The Mission stream follows the Carey academic year (March to November), but it may be possible for the practical placement to begin earlier, if arranged in advance.

Your Contextual Theological Praxis (MF505) includes participation in a mission cohort that meets weekly (on-site or by Zoom) to explore mission topics, cultivate a missional reading of the Bible, and reflect and discern together.

The full programme of Contextual Theological Practice plus six courses can be completed in one year full-time or over two to four years.

Study may be on-site or by distance, or a combination.

The Specialist Mentor

George Wieland

Director, Mission Research and Training and Mission Mentor

“God’s mission involves the whole people of God, not only in “doing mission” but more holistically in living missionally, as participants in what God is doing in communities, peoples and places. I’m excited by the prospect of cohorts of Jesus-followers, aligned to the mission of God, let loose in the world! I would love to partner with you in being formed together for that purpose.”
