Carey is one of New Zealand’s leading theological colleges. Since 1926 we have been training Christian leaders to bring gospel renewal in churches and communities across Aotearoa and around the world. While Carey belongs to the Baptist churches of New Zealand, we serve all the churches of New Zealand, offering a range of NZQA qualifications in the areas of Bible, theology, ministry, and mission. Along with these, we provide a world-class leadership formation programme for those who have a calling to pastoral or missional leadership. Through our Centre for Lifelong Learning, we also provide a suite of resources to support the professional development of Christian leaders.

An exciting opportunity has opened up at Carey Baptist College for the right person to step into the part-time fixed-term role of Administrator.

Our calling at Carey is to equip Christians to think, live, lead, and serve in ways that will advance God’s mission in this world. We specialise in preparing men and women for pastoral and mission leadership, but we provide a range of training pathways for anyone wanting to grow in their faith and participate more fully in God’s work of renewing this world.   

You will support the Principal and work with a wider team to ensure the smooth running of the college. You will administer student scholarships and financials, provide marketing assistance, organize events, and provide general administration support across a range of areas.  With some experience in administration, great relationship building skills, excellent organisational and planning capabilities, and a keen sense of humour, you will be part of a stellar and passionate team. The role provides many and varied opportunities for you to demonstrate and further develop your skills.

The job will suit someone who is flexible, ideally working 4 days a week but this is negotiable. You will need to be available at least from Monday-Tuesday of each week with other set days agreed. The role is office-based (at our Penrose campus), beginning February 2024 and concluding in December 2025.
