Reflective Field Education (RFE)
Reflective Field Education is three 15 credit courses (MF501, MF601, MF701), and you may take one for every equivalent full time year of study. That is one in every eight courses. The course duration is one semester and all courses are available both semester's of the year. Your RFE Ministry Proposal needs to be submitted by the first day of the semster in which you are intending to do your ministry experience. For each RFE course you are expected to complete at least 100 hours of practical ministry. This can either be done over a long period, e.g. 5 hours a week for 20 weeks, or a shorter one, e.g. 35 hours a week for three weeks. This means that RFE can be done with either a regular ministry commitment, or a short term ministry opportunity.
