At Carey Baptist College we are committed to providing the best pastoral leadership training we can. Our 'core business' is to produce leaders with the knowledge,skill,character and passion to love, feed and lead the people of God in a way that advances God's mission in the world.
Carey's Diploma of Pastoral Leadership (PL) training is aimed at students who want to become those kind of leaders. It is a three-year programme. Graduates will emerge with both a Diploma in Pastoral Leadership and the Bachelor of Applied Theology.
We recognise that not every student is training for the same kind of ministry. Pastoral leadership is undertaken in many different settings. There are different ways of doing church and there are different types of pastoral staff within churches. Carey's PL training reflects this,with course selection,fieldwork and supervision tailored to the specific interests and callings of students.
