THEMES IN A MISSIONAL SPIRITUALITY

This course explores biblical, theological and historical themes in understanding and living a missional spirituality. This spirituality is to animate, direct and empower the witness and service of the people of God in the world. The course also explores appropriate spiritual disciplines that sustain and make fruitful the Christian missioner as well enable one’s Christian mission to the world.

4.    Biblical Themes for a Missional Spirituality.

5.    Theological Themes for a Missional Spirituality.

6.    The Protestant Visions and Practices of a Missional Spirituality.

7.    The Anabaptist Vision and Practice of a Missional Spirituality.

8.    The Benedictine, Franciscan and Jesuit Visions and Practices.

9.    The Vision and Practice of the Liberation Theologians.

10.    The Spiritual Disciplines and Christian Service.

Dr. Charles Ringma...Originally from Holland but resident of Australia, Charles Ringma is a youth specialist, counselor, teacher, communicator, initiator, leader,researcher and author.

He is the founder of Teen Challenge Australia, which is focused on youth welfare and he has been instrumental in the development of socialwelfare services.

Emeritus Professor at Regent College, Canada, Charles regularly teaches at the Asian Theological Seminary in thePhilippines and in a variety of locations globally.

His qualifications include undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Divinity, an MA on sociology and Christianity and his PhD was on ‘the critical application of Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutic to the hermeneutics of Feminist, Black and Liberation Theologies”.

Charles serves with a number of other organisations including Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor and as theological consultant to Micah Challenge Australia.
