Chaplaincy

A broad introduction to the theology, biblical roots and history of chaplaincy. Students visit a range of chaplaincies and develop their own training profile.

Prerequisite: 30 credits in Bible & Theology OR Permission of Dean of Undergraduate Studies .

This module includes theological foundations for chaplaincy
the role of the chaplain
supervision and support structures
study of selected issues arising from chaplaincy, including prayer and evangelism
life within the institution
the balance between caring and justice
relationship with the community of faith
ethical and professional guidelines
