General Library Information
The library is named after the late Ayson Clifford, a past principal of the College. The collection, including the archives of the NZ Baptist Archive, numbers over 42,000 items. The collection is strong in Baptist life and beliefs. The focus of the College is on mission, and the collection reflects this focus. The library subscribes to 200 periodicals and the range of materials included in the library are books, periodicals, videos and audio-cassettes. The collection has been developed to support students working towards both undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications.
Circulation Policies:
Loan period: 1 month
Renewals: Library materials may be renewed by phone, email or in person
Recalls: Library materials may, on occasion, be subject to recall.
Recalled books will incur a $5 fine if not returned promptly.
Special note: Reference, Reserve Books and Periodicals are not generally available for loan.*
Reserve Books/Desk Copy:
The Reserve books relate to the courses being taught each semester, and are available only for use in the library during opening hours. *They may be issued for overnight loan on request within 15 minutes of library closing time and must be returned the next morning at opening time.
Photocopier:
The photocopier operates on a swipe card system. Cards may be purchased at the main office, or at the library outside office hours.
Study Carrel Areas:
An area for students doing postgraduate study is located on the upstairs mezzanine floor of the library. Also upstairs are 40 study carrels available to students on a 'first come first served' basis.
Membership:
All students, staff, Baptist ministers and other borrowers by request may join the library.
The library has an Informations Commons for students and library members to use for word processing, internet and databases, etc. Work may be saved to password protected files and to your USBs. Recommended sites are "bookmarked" as desktop icons and internet access is free to students of the College.
There is a printer if hard copies are required.
