Or come into Carey and find me in my office or in the library!
Kia ora!
My name is Andrew Picard and I coordinate the Field Education courses at Carey (except for the Intermission and Diploma of Pastoral Leadership/Youth Pastoring students). I also help churches and organisations set up ministry training
or internships through Carey.
Please get in touch if you have any questions about Field Education and Internships at Carey.
A bit about me:
Before taking
up this role at Carey I worked at Laidlaw College as Director of Community Life,
Co-ordinator of Internships (Auckland) and lectured in Preaching. Prior to
working at Laidlaw I was Senior Pastor at Napier Baptist Church for 4 ½ years. I
am currently embarking in PhD studies on theology and culture. I have experience
as a pastor, in Senior Management at Laidlaw College, lecturing, and
internships. I love preaching and teaching and seeing people become deeper
disciples of the Triune God of grace. I also love seeing people integrate
theology and ministry to become thoughtful practitioners. I am married to
Margaret and we have two beautiful daughters who we are very proud of. I am a
passionate sport’s fan (especially cricket) and continue to fool myself that I
can still play it. I am looking forward to journeying with you this semester and
seeing you develop and grow.
