In April 2010, We invited Dr. Charles Ringma to teach a block course on 'Themes in a Missional Spirituality', which explored biblical, theological and historical themes, what it means to understand and live a missional spirituality and disciplines that sustain and make fruitful the Christian missioner as well enable one’s Christian mission to the world.
Originally from Holland, but a resident of Australia, Charles Ringma is a teacher, researcher, leader, initiator, counselor, youth specialist and author. He has been instrumental in the development of a number of social welfare services, including being the founder of the drug rehabilitation and education organisation Teen Challenge. Charles regularly teaches at the Asian Theological Seminary in the Philippines and in a variety of locations globally. He is renowned for his books on Christian Spirituality. His qualifications include undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Divinity, an MA on Sociology and Christianity and his PhD was on the hermeneutics of Feminist, Black and Liberation Theologies. Charles serves with a number of organisations including Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor and is theological consultant to Micah Challenge Australia.
