Pauline Letters: 1 Corinthians
This course aims to
enable students to acquire a thorough familiarity with the content of 1
Corinthians , recognise its genre and literary structure, discern its
distinctive emphases, evaluate some of its main theological themes,
engage critically with issues of current scholarship in relation to its
nature and interpretation and apply the results of their study of the
letter to issues of contemporary significance. Skills will be developed
in exegesis, analysis of texts, research and presentation; theological
and interpretative competencies will be cultivated.

2. Distinctive features of the letter
3. Issues in recent scholarship on the letter
3. Literary genre and structure of the letter
4. Exegesis of the letter
5. Major theological themes of the letter
6. Application of the letter to contemporary issues
