Baptist Churches
This course has two foci: Baptist history and Baptist principles. It has been designed from the perspective of Baptist Churches in New Zealand . It will therefore focus particularly on the history of the Baptist Churches in England , the United States of America and New Zealand . Out of this study and in the light of Scripture and the modern context will come an assessment of appropriate Baptist identity and distinctives today. Topics will be selected from the following: the Anabaptists, English Baptists from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries, Baptist history in America , New Zealand Baptist history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, history of the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society, Baptist principles.
