- bn c. 1836 d. 22 August 1913. Founding Member Ingestre St (Wanganui). Mrs Carson arrived in N.Z. in 1864, attended the Wellesley St church, and married in Auckland. She and Mr Carson (see separate entry) were instrumental in the commencement of the Wanganui church and she served the church zealously, holding services in their home before a church building was available. Mrs Carson taught a Young Woman�s Bible Class and in 1897 was elected a member and Convenor of the first Board of Deaconesses. She convened a prayer meeting for women interested in mission which was a precursor to the B.W.M.U.. Ref.: Obituary: NZB October 1913, 184.
