Brown, Albert Victor

1906-2000. Of Northern Irish extraction, Brown came to N.Z. at the age of 19. Initially an itinerant Brethren evangelist, Brown became the first pastor of the Putaruru Baptist Church (1937-1940) with subsequent Baptist pastorates at Cambridge 1940-42; Sandringham 1942-46; Lower Hutt 1946-50; Omagh (N. Ireland) 1950-53; Wanganui East 1954-58; New Lynn 1959-63 and Titahi Bay 1963-66. In all Brown�s colourful preaching ministry spanned 77 years, 73 of these spent in major active ministry.
