- bn St Albans, Hertfordshire, England November 1819 d. Christchurch 15 July 1912. First ordained Baptist minister in N.Z.. Churches: (U.K.) Bedale, Yorkshire 1847-50; (N.Z.) Nelson 1851-57; Itinerant ministry in Nelson 1857-63; Christchurch 1863-64; Bush Mission (Oxford) 1864-71; Nelson 1871-77; Caversham 1877-79; Kirwee 1882-1901.
