Wilson , Rev. Alfred Samuel

- bn Charleston, South Australia 14 March 1867 d. Auckland 17 October 1954. Pastor. Trained at Sth Aust. Baptist College. Churches: (Aust.) Perth 1896-1907; (N.Z.) Wanganui 1907-14; Y.M.C.A. work in Australia & N.Z. 1914-21; Auckland Tabernacle (Asst) 1921-22; Grange Rd 1922-30; St Albans 1930-31. A strong advocate for open membership, Wilson was at the centre of a split over the issue in Western Australia and provoked a similar controversy in N.Z., including a published clash with J.J.
