Turley , Campbell Bruce
1949- . New Zealand born Turley undertook post-graduate theological studies in the United States prior to becoming Director of Education for the Baptist Churches of New Zealand, 1977-1979. He was Chairman of the Public Questions Committee, 1979-1981. In 1979 he became General Secretary of the Ecumenical Churches’ Education Commission. He then became a Baptist Pastor in Melbourne (1981-1987), during which time he was also sessional lecturer in pastoral studies at Whitley College, his lectures being based on two books he had written on pastoral counselling. He has subsequently had major leadership roles in Lifeline, specialising particularly in the area of suicide prevention services and training, while maintaining an active role in his local Baptist Church.
