Cowles , Miss A.L.

- bn – d. 7 October 1957. N.Z.B.M.S. Missionary, East Bengal, 1911-1947. Member of Richmond. Both a trained nurse and a qualified teacher, Miss Cowles was variously Headmistress of the mission school, Superintendent of the mission hospital, and Superintendent of the mission orphanage, in addition to training nurses and serving as Field Secretary to the Society. Her greatest passion, however, was village evangelism, and she had a particular interest in Muslim people. After 35 years of service she retired but she maintained an active interest in missions.
